Investigation
Have you owned a Porsche Taycan, Jaguar I-Pace or Audi e-Tron in the past six years?
We are investigating claims on behalf of owners on certain electric vehicles (“EV”) which may have been sold with defective 800V lithium-ion batteries.
The EV batteries, produced by LG Chem and LG Energy Solution, are alleged to be prone to overheating, thereby causing risk of fire and damage to property.
About the investigation
Since as early as 2018 (and potentially earlier) vehicle manufacturers have been aware of the thermal issues with the batteries manufactured by LG. Car manufacturers have been issuing recalls in recent years, not only years after they had knowledge about the defect putting EV owners at risk but have also provided inadequate solutions to rectify the battery defect.
The defective battery not only puts owners in physical danger but has also caused significant financial losses from overpaying for a defective vehicle, significant reduction in the resale value of the car, inability to use the advertising battery range, and potentially higher vehicle insurance premiums amongst other losses.
